Framed Utopia

Large mixed-media wall piece made of recycled packagings. The frame’s rough edges contrast with the delicate nature of the flower petals that cover the entire piece. Trash becomes ornament, attempting to amend our culture of waste and offering a visualization of our disconnection with the “natural” world. This piece acknowledges the artist’s European artistic heritage through the use of a baroque inspired frame.
