As the Teaching Artist on this project, I was responsible for the final design of the mural and its production within a 6 weeks period. I was assisted in its production by Michael Mitchell and by 16 youth apprentices from the Bronx, under the umbrella of the non-for-profit organization Creative Art Works. Inspired by our meeting with our main client, the high Judge of the court and the youth's visual explorations and poetic words, the mural depicts a symbolic and transformative journey through life (and the Bronx). It offers a message of love and hope to the visitors, especially the youngest ones, who come to the Family Court House often to settle difficult matters.

As for the previous mural, I was the Teaching Artist on this project, responsible for the final design of the mural and its production (in progress). I am assisted by Michael Mittchel and by 10 youth apprentices from Harlem, all under the umbrella of the non-for-profit organization Creative Art Works. Inspired by our meeting with the creative team at Shake Shack and the youth's visual explorations of Harlem's relevant thematics, the mural is about the colorful rhythms and movements of the changing neighborhood, its roots are represented through the various Afro hair styles and its present is portraying the full team that produced the piece.
Size: 50 x 6 Feet on 5th Avenue, 8 x 16 Feet on 125th Street.

Harlem Shake Shack: Interior Mural

For the inside murals of the Harlem Shake Shack, Michael Mitchell was the Teaching artist who designed the murals based on the woodwork built by Shake Shack. I assisted him along with the same 10 Harlem youth apprentices. This article, published online Gotham To Go covers the evolution and the celebration of the opening of Shake Shake and the completion of the interior murals.
